Dr. Christos Keleshis received a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, an MSc in Telecommunication Systems and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo (2009). His doctoral dissertation was on Automated High Resolution, Micro-Angiographic Fluoroscopy Medical Systems. Christos worked for the Toshiba Stroke Research Center where he developed hardware and software for the automation of x-ray medical systems with focus on high-resolution imaging.
For the last 10 years, he leads the R&D activities of the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL) of the Cyprus Institute, currently as a Research and Development Scientist. He is mainly responsible for the system development of the unmanned aircrafts as well as the development, customization and integration of payload to the overall Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).
Since 2009, he accumulated valuable experience in UAS related technology such as autopilots, data acquisition, telecommunication systems, imagers and various other sensors. In addition, Christos is participating in field experiments, contributing in the control and monitoring of the UAVs as a Ground Control Station (GCS) operator.
