Course Purpose and Objectives |
This course provides an overview of the science and engineering of renewable energy technologies, with the aim of understanding and applying the underlying physical principles of energy conversion, storage and transmission to sustainable energy systems. The students acquire skills to use bibliographic data, scientific and engineering techniques and tools to analyse the physical phenomena and evaluate performance of renewable energy technologies. |

Learning Outcomes |
Students will familiarize themselves with simulation and analysis tools, data visualization methods, literature and computational resources in order to engage in interdisciplinary activities, including interactive visualizations for the analysis and interpretation of the complex data of the performance of the built environment within its natural environment. The multi-disciplinary dimension of the course will enrich the scientific background of the students while offering them a better understanding of research and innovation thrusts of key vertical and horizontal priorities of the Cyprus Smart Specialization Strategy (i.e. Environment, Energy, Built Environment).
