Stella Michael is a Scientific Coordinator at CaSToR of the Cyprus Institute, coordinating the QUEST project, which aims at developing a Quantum Computing Hub (QHub) as a collaborative platform to exploit quantum computing applications in science and technology.
Stella’s educational background was focused on the molecular characterisation of cancer, with a BSc in Medical Biochemistry, an MSc in Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology, a PhD in Molecular Biology and an extensive post-doctoral experience in the Tumor Virology laboratory at the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Cyprus. Specifically, she studied HPV-induced carcinogenesis and its interplay with stem cells in the target tissue.
Throughout her research work, she gained extensive experience in grant proposal writing and coordination, dissemination activities and supervision of BSc, MSc and PhD students. She has also extensive experience as a Lecturer in private universities and has worked as a Research Support officer at the Cyprus Cancer Research Institute.
