The World Cybersecurity Summit, presented by BOUSSIAS, took place on March 28, 2024, at the Hilton Nicosia. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with elite cyber leaders and representatives from top technology companies, discussing the most pressing technological challenges of our time.

 

The event, held under the auspices of The Cyprus Institute, signifies CyI’s commitment to further investment in the cybersecurity and especially AI sector. Attendees included Mr. Nicodemos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Mr. Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation, and Technology of the Republic of Cyprus, and Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, Minister of Digital Governance of Greece (joining online).

 

Dr. Konstantinos Kleovoulou, CyI Asst. Vice President of Innovation and Development, delivered a welcoming address on behalf of CyI President, Dr. Stavros Malas. Additionally, Prof. Constantine Dovrolis, CaSToRC Director, presented a lecture titled: “Security and Privacy Risks in Large Language Models”.

 

Building on the success of the 1st Cyprus Technology Summit in 2023, BOUSSIAS Cyprus hosted the World Cyber Security Summit. This event was meticulously crafted to explore the next wave of technology, empowering organizations to reimagine cybersecurity and confront emerging threats amidst rapid global transformations.

 

The Summit attracted a diverse audience comprising senior cybersecurity stakeholders, decision-makers, public authorities, and academia from prominent European markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, and Switzerland. Additionally, representatives from pivotal markets for Cyprus, including Israel, Egypt, and the GCC, were in attendance.

 

The Summit served as a vital networking and learning platform for key decision-makers, fostering a shared understanding of the actions required to bolster cyber resilience.
