Our CyI Procurement Office colleagues, recently participated in the workshop on “Applying Green Criteria, Case Studies, and Action Plan”, organized by the Cyprus Energy Agency in collaboration with the European Commission. The event took place on May 16, 2024, at the Cyprus Energy Agency in Nicosia.

 

CyI had the honor of presenting our 2022 GPP Award-winning Action Plan for Green Public Procurement, as a model for other organizations. This was an effective way to promote our organization and demonstrate our commitment to sustainable and green solutions.

 

The presentation included:

• Detailed analysis of the structure and methodology followed for developing the plan.
• The benefits that can arise with a presentation of the advantages offered by implementing green criteria in public procurement.
• Discussion on the challenges and difficulties that may arise during the implementation of the plan.
• Provision of information and resources for preparing new policies in the field of green public procurement.
• Tips for effective communication and information dissemination within and outside the organization regarding green public procurement.
• Presentation of successful green public procurement cases that have been implemented in the Institute.

CyI encourages all members of our community to continue using sustainable and green criteria in their activities and procurement processes. Your commitment to these practices will contribute to shaping a more sustainable future.
