Ravi PANDEY is a seasoned researcher with a passion for advancing the fields of artificial intelligence, geoinformatics, and urbanism. Ravi's academic journey has been a transformative exploration of cutting-edge technologies and their application to sustainable urban development.
Ravi proudly holds a Copernicus Masters in Digital Earth, a prestigious Erasmus Mundus-funded program. During this program, he delved into the intricate connections between technology and the environment, culminating in the development of a web-based application for hiking activity planning and navigation. Before embarking on his Copernicus journey, Ravi pursued a master's level study program at ITC, University of Twente, Netherlands, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing- ISRO, India. This unique joint program enriched his expertise in geoinformatics, laying the foundation for his future research pursuits.
Ravi's academic voyage commenced with a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the esteemed School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, equipping him with a holistic understanding of urbanism and regional planning.
His research interests are as diverse as his academic journey. Ravi seeks to uncover innovative solutions to address the complex challenges of today's urban environments, spanning advanced geo-computational backgrounds to cutting-edge urbanism practices. Professionally, Ravi has contributed his skills as a Geospatial Scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization, further solidifying his expertise in the field of geospatial science.
Currently, he is embarking on a new research chapter as a PhD candidate in the Energy, Environment, and Atmospheric Sciences program, part of the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Programme (Multi-sensory Solutions for Increasing Human-building Resilience in the Face of Climate Change - ESR 7). His research journey unfolds at the Energy, Environment, and Water Research Centre (EEWRC) of The Cyprus Institute, within a globally diverse research environment under the supervision of Professor Salvatore Carlucci. At EEWRC, Ravi explores sustainability in the built environment with an emphasis on the sustainable use of energy, aligning perfectly with his passion for advancing urban resilience.
