Adriana Bruggeman joined the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute in September 2009. Her main research interests are the monitoring and modeling of hydrologic and environmental processes. She also enjoys working on the development and evaluation of technologies and policies for natural resource management and climate change adaptation with interdisciplinary research and stakeholder teams. She has worked as an agricultural hydrologist at the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas, based in Aleppo, Syria from 1998 to 2009. In that capacity, she has coordinated and cooperated in integrated natural resource management projects with research and development stakeholders throughout the West Asia and North Africa region. Prior to that she worked as a research assistant and associate on non-point source pollution research projects to assess the effect of best management practices on surface water and groundwater quality in Virginia. She has an MSc in Hydrology and Water Management from Wageningen University, The Netherlands (1988) and a PhD in Biological Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), USA (1997).
