Tariq Benzaza joined the Cyprus Institute as a PhD student in February 2025. He holds a professional bachelor's degree in land surveying from University College Ghent and a master's degree in archaeology from Ghent University, Belgium. His research interests include the application of geospatial sciences in archaeology, digital reconstruction, and archaeometallurgy. He has been actively involved in archaeological fieldwork and research campaigns in Cyprus, particularly with the Pyla-Kokkinokremos Excavation Project.
