Leading Innovation Consultant Delivers Innovative Session on Intellectual Property, Knowledge Transfer, and Enhancing Research Impact And Commercialization to CyI Community Featured

On December 19, 2024, the Cyprus Institute's Innovation and Development Directorate (IDD) hosted the event Transforming Research Into Impact - Intellectual Property Session. Part of a three-part series, the initiative aimed to inspire and empower the CyI community on innovation management, intellectual property (IP) protection, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration.
 
This session spotlighted Intellectual Property, with Phyllis Leah Speser, J.D., Ph.D., R.T.T.P., Senior Consultant to the Director General of the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation, delivering exclusive insights into knowledge transfer, IP management, and commercialization.
 
Adding depth to the discussion, the event featured an engaging fireside chat, which included CyI President, Professor Stavros Malas, Head of IDD, Dr. Konstantinos Kleovoulou, and a ‘champion’ researcher, Professor George Biskos. This dynamic exchange offered practical "dos and don’ts" from diverse perspectives, shedding light on strategies for enhancing research impact and driving innovation at CyI.
 
The IDD also showcased its support services, highlighting resources available to researchers aiming to transform discoveries into tangible, real-world applications.
 
This engaging session reaffirmed the importance of intellectual property in advancing research and creating meaningful impact, leaving participants inspired to integrate these principles into their work.
