Application Procedure
Nominated students have to send the following application documents to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.:
- Learning Agreement (students and their supervisor should be in contact with the program coordinator and/or faculty member they will work with for the preparation of the Agreement. The CyI Erasmus Office will sign the Agreement once it has been agreed, finalised and signed on behalf of the student and the sending Institution)
- Language Certificate Level B2 for the English Language (official language certificates such as IELTS, IGCSE, Cambridge and TOEFL are accepted, as well as certificates from the home university or its Language Centre)
- Copy of ID or passport
- Copy of European Health Insurance Card

Incoming Student Mobility for Traineeship
Students interested in implementing a mobility for traineeship at The Cyprus Institute, must contact – through their supervisor(s) and their home institution's Erasmus Office – the relevant faculty or research staff member at CyI. Alternatively, they can contact the CyI Erasmus Office to bring them into contact with the appropriate staff member.
Application Procedure
Once they agree upon the traineeship details with the CyI staff member(s), students must send the following application documents to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.:
- Learning Agreement (students and their supervisor should be in contact with the program coordinator and/or faculty member they will work with for the preparation of the LA. The CyI Erasmus Office will sign the Agreement once it has been agreed, finalised and signed on behalf of the student and the sending Institution)
- Language Certificate Level Β2 for the English Language (official language certificates such as IELTS, IGCSE, Cambridge and TOEFL are accepted, as well as certificates from the home university or its Language Centre)
- Copy of ID or passport
- Copy of European Health Insurance Card
- Evidence of liability and accident insurance coverage
Insurance Coverage
Health Insurance
It is essential to obtain the European Health Insurance Card, which will provide cover for emergency treatment in the case of illness or accident. In addition, students are strongly advised to take out private insurance, in order to cover medical expenses which may be incurred during the period at The Cyprus Institute. This insurance should cover medical expenses and possible repatriation if necessary.
Liability and Accident Insurance
Erasmus students implementing a mobility for traineeship must also have an accident and liability insurance.

Recognition of Courses
Incoming students and their home institution receive an original Transcript of Records with all the courses, corresponding ECTS credits and grades that were achieved during the exchange period.

Withdraw If students withdraw from a course during the first three weeks it will not show up on their transcript. Students who petition for, and obtain approval to withdraw from a course after 3 weeks will receive a grade: "W". The withdrawal will be a part of their permanent academic record. |

Failure Students failing any course at the Institute will receive a grade: "F." An “F” will appear on the official transcript, but will not be computed in the GPA. Students who fail a course have the option to either re-sit the final examination or repeat the course for a new grade during the next academic semester/term in which the course is offered. The Course Failure Policy in the Student Handbook and the Policy Portal provides more information. |
The grading system is numeric from 0 to 10 rounded to the nearest half unit. 5 is the passing grade
